2020 KINK CLOUD BIKE (TRAVIS HUGHES SIGNATURE)

2020 Kink Cloud Overview

Brand new for this model year, the 2020 Kink Cloud is Kink Pro team rider Travis Hughes’ new signature bike. If you’ve seen Travis ride, you know there is just about nothing he can’t do on a bike, and the Cloud is based on his personal geometry preferences. Component wise, the new Kink Cloud has got you covered with the included four plastic pegs and rear freecoaster wheel. The subtle Gloss Dusk Sky colorway really sets this bike apart without being too flashy, and graphics inspired by Travis’ design ideas really finish off the look of this bike.

In addition to the full 100% 4130 chromoly frame and fork, the Cloud features an amazing list of components. This model comes with aftermarket Kink Rex 9.5” 13-butted 100% 4130 chromoly bars, Kink Ericsson Stealth seat, and Kink 2.4” Sever tires front and rear. The integrated seat clamp, removable brake design, and Mission Dispatch freecoaster rear wheel solidify the aftermarket look and feel to this bike. To top it all off, the Cloud of course comes standard with four Mission Targa plastic pegs.

Price

Just from looking over the current bikes that are out right now, this is one of the most affordable for the quality. Its only $599.95 and with that you are getting

Quality

Because of the high quality build of this bike, i’m only going to talk about the parts that concern me. The Kink Cloud comes with 8 spline cranks, which does not make it a deal breaker. It just means that the cranks are a cheaper version of its 48 spline counterpart. That’s literally the only low quality thing that I can find on this bike. If it’s a huge deal to you, buy 48 spline cranks here

Dirt

Rarely do you ever see street riders on the dirt. The specs on this bike are designed to help you hop higher and hold manuals better. For that reason, the bike got a lower rating for dirt.

Street

This bike is a street riders dream. It has the higher bars, longer frame and 4 pegs! Because everything is made out of high quality parts, you’ll be throwing spins down all the stair-sets. This bike is designed for street so take advantage of it.

Park

Now park and street don’t exactly run perfectly in line. But this bike will work good for learning the basics of flowing a park and things like that. The geometry is pretty good for maintaining control around corners.

Conclusion 🤪

If you are serious about getting into bmx and killing it in the streets, this bike is perfect. Kink does an amazing job at creating high quality low priced bikes. I understand that this may be a high price range, but you will save so much in the long run, low end bikes usually need parts replaced after a few months. These parts should last a lot longer.

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
