Imagine this: You get a summer job cleaning for your local grocery store. They pay you $10 an hour and you have to work around 12 hours a week. Not much work right? You would only have to work for 4.1 weeks before you could afford this bike.
Any beginner bike that costs less than $500 is a super good deal. Even without full chromoly, it is a fair price.
2020 Cult Gateway Quality
The quality is significantly higher than Walmart bikes. The Cult Gateway has TRImoly construction. (this means that the top tube, downtube, and headtube are chromoly.) Having a little bit of chromoly on the bike makes it a lot stronger. The downside is that the hi-tensile steel back end starts to bend as you learn to spin.

Back end will bend over time.
The sad reality of hi-tensile steel. Fortunately, it isn’t the whole frame. The bike will last until you get pretty good and start doing like consistent 360 down drops and stuff like that.
