Frame Geometry

A: Top Tube Length:  20.5″-21″ – Learn what size is right for you here.Opens in a new tab.

A 20.5″ TT is for smaller riders.

If you are around 5′ to 5’6″ get a 20.5″

If you are taller than 5’6″ get a 21″

B: Chain Stay Length: 12.75”

A 12.75″ chain stay is shorter than average. This is good for smaller riders because they can control the bike easier. However, a short chain stay has a smaller balance point.

C: Head Tube Angle: 75° – Learn About Head Tube Angles HereOpens in a new tab.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°

E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.75″

F: Stand Over Height: 8.75”

The Stand over height affects how much frame there is to control tricks with. 8.75″ is around the average size.

2020 We The People Arcade Price

$459 is a decent price. Most entry level bmx bikes are around this price. I do think that this bike is a little over priced.

2020 We The People Arcade Quality

The WTP Arcade is an entry-level bike. With that being said, there are cuts in quality to make it cheaper. There are some chromoly on the frame, but its only the front end. The back end usually bends over time.

The bars and forks are hi-tensile steel instead of chromoly. Sadly this makes them pretty weak. Depending on your riding style, hi-tensile steel parts usually only last around a year.

Lastly, the rims are only single wall. This means they are a lot weaker than double walls. Most bikes nowadays are double wall, so single wall rims scare me.

Highlights

Cheap

The whole point of low-end bikes, is to bring in new bmx riders. A bike for less than $500 does this really well. So I love that the bike is less expensive and will help get new riders into bmx.

Lowlights

Low quality parts

Like I mentioned in the quality section, there are a lot of low quality parts. This bike should only be bought by beginners!!

Buy if you are learning:

  • x up rides
  • bunnyhops
  • pull up barspins
  • 180
  • crankflips

Don’t buy if you are learning:

  • Big 360 drops
  • tailwhips
  • big dirt jumps

Conclusion 🤩

If you’re looking for a first bike, that’s exactly what this is. I’d recommend it for someone who wants to get into bmx just to test it out.

If you are going to ride and become a serious rider go with something with a little better quality rating.

If you decide to buy this bike get it from Chain ReactionOpens in a new tab., which sells in the US and UK.

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
