Frame Geometry

A: Top Tube Length:  20.75″

20.75″ Is pretty tall.

This is good for riders who are 5’5″ to 6′

B: Chain Stay Length: 13.65

This is a really long chainstay. A long chainstay will give you more control with manuals and bunny hops. It will also make your bike feel less responsive.

C: Head Tube Angle: 75° – Learn About Head Tube Angles HereOpens in a new tab.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

2020 Cult Control Price

I love any bike that costs less than $500. The Control comes in right at $495 and is totally worth the money. Not many $500 completes coming with Chromoly bars, forks and frame. Chromoly is a huge deal for durability.

2020 Cult Control Quality

Cult makes a lot of solid bikes. Here are a few of the quality highlights:

Full Chromoly Frame bars and forks. Chromoly is the strongest type of steel available for bmx bikes. Read more about it hereOpens in a new tab.

Sealed Bearings. Unsealed bearings fall apart and nothing is more frustrating than a seized wheel or something.

Sadly, a lowlight is the single wall rims. I have had a bad experience with single wall rims. Granted I was trying whips and banging my wheel on the ground haha. 😆

Highlights

Good Deal

Even though it comes with single wall rims… Everything else makes the 2020 Control totally worth $500. If I was just starting out, this bike would be in my top 3 for sure.

Lowlights

Single Wall rims

The thing with single wall rims is that they bend. Double wall rims hold up better for high impact tricks. This includes big 360’s and tailwhips. If you aren’t at then level yet, it’s no problem.

Buy if you are learning:

  • 360
  • Double peg/feeble/smiths
  • T-bogs

Don’t buy if you are learning:

  • Whips will be harder
  • 720
  • Huge drops
  • spins down drops
  • tech lip tricks

Conclusion 🤩

Perfect for the intermediate rider that wants a new bmx bike. If you are just learning small tricks like 180, 360 tap, x-up rides and so on.. You will love the 2020 Cult Control. Everything is designed to last and Cult has never let me down before. Let me know what you think of this bike..

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
