Frame Geometry

A: Top Tube Length:  21″ – Learn what size is right for you here.Opens in a new tab.

This is a long toptube. Perfect for tall riders.

Perfect for riders that are between 5’10” to 6’2″

B: Chain Stay Length: 13”

This is a long chain stay. Longer Chain-stays give you more control when doing manuals and bunny hops.

C: Head Tube Angle: 75° – Learn About Head Tube Angles HereOpens in a new tab.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°

E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.75″

F: Stand over height: 9.25″

This is a taller standover.

A tall standover gives you more stability and will make bars, and t-bogs easier.

2019 Fly Proton Freecoaster Price

Fly made a really good bike for a little over $500. For $550 you can get a bike with everything that you need. This is a great price for the value.

2019 Fly Proton Freecoaster Quality

The proton is a high-quality BMX bike. There is not much on here that would be considered low quality. Here is what’s killer on the bike.

Double Wall Rims. Double wall rims hold up to bigger tricks in the park and the streets.

Good 3pc. Cranks. 48 spline 3pc cranks are the best option possible.

Highlights

Very good value

The price is right. For $550 you get great quality. Not many bikes are able to provide this level of value for this price. It’s great.

Lowlights

No Hub Guards

I think it is crazy that they include 4 pegs on this bike, but no hub guards. Buying a set of hub guards for the Proton would cost around $80 depending on which ones you get.

Buy if you are learning:

  • x-up rides

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
