The Type B+ is a bike for mid-level riders who want a freecoaster bike. The freecoaster will allow for easier fakie tricks and more street style. It has short and responsive frame geometry which will make progressing easier. I’m stoked that it comes with double-wall rims and not stoked that the frame is not full Chromoly.

This is a medium toptube.
Perfect for riders that are between 5’6″ to 5’8″
B: Chain Stay Length: 12.75” – Learn About Chain Stays Here
This is a medium chain stay designed to balance tech and flow riding.
C: Head Tube Angle: 75° – Learn About Head Tube Angles Here
Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.
A less steep head tube gives you more control.
D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°
E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.75″
F: Stand over height: 8.5″
This is a medium standover.
A tall standover gives you more stability and will make bars, and t-bogs easier.
2020 Fiend Type B+ Price
I think this bike is pretty expensive for the quality that you are receiving. The only reason that I think this is because of the tri-moly frame. For $560 the Type B+ is really close to that desired $500 price point.
2020 Fiend Type B+ Quality
Here’s what is low quality about the bike:
- Not full chromoly frame
- Mission parts are good but not great!
Highlights
Street Dream
As long as you don’t plan to send it down el torro, you will love how this bike feels when riding street. The geometry is set to be average. Thus giving it a good balance of flow and tech.
Lowlights
The frame isn’t full chromoly.
You can read about the difference in chromoly and hi-tensile here. Basically, hi-tensile steel will bend over time. That’s why I recommend full chromoly, all of the time.
Buy if you are learning:
- Bars
- 180
- 360
- medium airs/transfers
- x-up rides
Don’t buy if you are learning:
- Huge stair drops
- 720
- flips
2020 Fiend Type B+ Conclusion 🤩
I’m not a fan of brown, even though some people might love it. This bmx bike is pretty solid if you can get over the hi-tensile steel frame. For a beginner to mid-level rider, this is a good bike.
