S&M Hucker Frame Review

The Hucker frame has 3 different size options and 3 different color options. 4130 heat-treated chromoly makes the frame strong enough to stand up to tough riding. S&M’s Hucker frame is built with geometry to balance responsiveness and control.

S&M Hucker Frame Geometry

A: Top Tube Length: 20.75″, 21″, 21.25″ – Learn what size is right for you here.Opens in a new tab.

Mostly in the taller range for tall riders.

B: Chain Stay Length: 13.3″ – Learn About Chain Stays HereOpens in a new tab.

This is a long length chain stay. It provides a good balance for control and responsiveness. However, it will be a little better if you are looking for a more controlled feel.

C: Head Tube Angle: 75º – Learn About Head Tube Angles HereOpens in a new tab.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°

E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.7″

F: Stand over height: 8.8″

This is a tall standover. A tall standover gives you more control with barspins and t-bogs. But makes whips harder.

Conclusion

I love the color options and the graphic design on the Hucker frame. I think that it would be a really good frame for a rider who likes to flow around. Hucker’s frame isn’t very snappy or responsive, which makes it feel comfortable to fly around the park on.

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
