S&M Dagger Frame Review

The Dagger frame is a high-quality S&M frame made in America with strong 4130 chromoly. The responsive geometry makes it perfect for park riders who want to do a lot of spins and whips. I love the three color options, even though I’m not a purple fan, this purple looks pretty good.

✅ – Responsive Feeling
✅ – Heat-treated 4130 chromoly
✅ – Low stand over

S&M Dagger Frame Overview

The Dagger frame from S&M is their ultra-responsive park incarnation of the ATF frame, with a low standover and BB height and steep head tube and super short rear end.

The Dagger is a compact and nimble park machine with double-butted true temper 4130 Chrmoly tubing making it strong enough to look after you while you’re shredding the park.

The dagger includes removable brake mounts and drilled gyro tabs but hardware is not included.

S&M Dagger Frame Geometry

A: Top Tube Length: 20.5″, 20.75″, 21″ – Learn what size is right for you here.Opens in a new tab.

3 size options geared to taller riders.

B: Chain Stay Length: 12.8″ – Learn About Chain Stays HereOpens in a new tab.

This is a short chain stay. It provides responsiveness, making spins and whips easier.

C: Head Tube Angle: 75.3º – Learn About Head Tube Angles HereOpens in a new tab.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°

E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.55″

F: Stand over height: 7.75″

This is a low standover, which makes the frame feel more snappy. Whips will be easier, but bars are harder because there is less to pinch.

Conclusion

I think it is cool that S&M decided to design a full-on park frame. The Dagger could compare to Total BMX frames, which have really tight geometry and a really responsive feeling. This frame is for the advanced rider who wants to start doing triple whips or something like that.

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
