S&M ATF Frame Review

The ATF frame is built to be burlier and better than ever. With a butted top tube and dent resistance down tube. Somehow S&M made the frame super strong but kept the weight down to 4.7 lbs which is pretty light. You can ride just about anything with the ATF frame.

✅ – Dent resistant downtube
✅ – Heat-treated 4130 chromoly
✅ – Long chain stay

Price & Weight are comparative to how good the deal is.

S&M ATF Frame Overview

The ATF bmx frame from S&M is the base model of all of S&M’s lastest signature frames. The ATF (Alcohol, tobacco and firearms) uses S&M’s standard heat-treated super therm tube set with a tapered and butted top tube for extra strength, dent-resistant down tube, tapered rear stays with massive rear tire clearance and heat-treated micro dropouts.

S&M says the frame is a bit burlier and stronger than most of their frames but still only weighs in a 4.7lbs.

A: Top Tube Length: 20″, 20.5″, 20.75″, 21″, 21.25″ 21.5″ – Learn what size is right for you here.

So many size options. There is literally a size for ever rider.

B: Chain Stay Length: 13.4″ – Learn About Chain Stays Here

This is a long chain stay. A long chain stay will give riders more control and stability.

C: Head Tube Angle: 75.3º – Learn About Head Tube Angles Here

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°

E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.55″

F: Stand over height: 8.5″

This is a medium to tall standover. A tall standover will give the bike more control, and make bars and t-bog easier.

An All Terrian Frame is a good choice for a lot of riders who aren’t strict to just street or just park riding. The ATF can even handle big trails. The other cool thing is all fo the size options. The small 20″ is perfect for small riders and the 21.5″ is good for really tall riders. (like me)
