S&M BTM Frame Overview

The Born to Mob or BTM frame is Mike Hoder’s signature frame from S&M. The BTM Frame is designed more for the street ride and features a short back end, low BB height and butted true temper super therm tubing for great strength but still only weighing in at 4.6lbs.

The BTM also has an integrated headset, top and downtube open-end gussets for extra strength, externally machined Mid BB shell, an integrated seat post clamp, strong tapered seat stays with bosses for removable brake mounts (sold separately), 7/8″ diameter chainstays, tubular stay braces with a super cool BTM engraving, and 5mm thick 4Q-Baked dropouts

S&M BTM Frame Geometry

Lots of size options. I like that this frame has options taller than 21″ for us tall riders. A 21.5″ is really rare.

B: Chain Stay Length: 13.125″ – Learn About Chain Stays HereOpens in a new tab.

This is a medium chain stay. It provides balanced specs.

C: Head Tube Angle: 75º – Learn About Head Tube Angles HereOpens in a new tab.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°

E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.55″

F: Stand over height: 8.75″

This is a medium standover, which makes the frame feel balanced. Not too snappy, and not to mellow.

Conclusion

The 5 size options is a huge bonus for the BTM. I know a lot of tall riders struggle with finding a frame taller than 21, so here it is. As always, this S&M frame is made with outstanding quality and backed by a 1-year warranty. This is a good frame for street riders and flowy park riders.

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
