Fit Blade V3 Forks Review

So I had bought the Fit Blade forks when they were at the V2 version. (years ago) The reason that I bought them was that they were one of the lightest forks available. Ultimately they cracked on me and I had to get new ones. But they were really good while they lasted.

Price & Weight are comparative to how good the deal is.

Fit Blade V3 Forks Overview

Our goal was to design and produce an extremely strong fork with plenty of tire clearance. After 2 years of R&D and a lot of investment in tooling, the Blade V.3 is available with a traditional 33mm offset. Here are a few features that make these forks so strong.

  • Using left and right specific investment cast drop-outs instead of traditional Cr-Mo plate, we’ve eliminated the weld gap on the inside of the drops, and were able to thicken up the drops toward the top making a much stronger drop-out/leg connection.
  • Seamless, swaged legs provide more strength than welded or fused caps-especially if pegs are installed. The ends of these legs are formed, not capped and welded so there is nothing to fracture.
  • A longer 166mm CNC’d steerer tube with increased wall thicknesses wherever possible and a 24mm x 1.5 compression cap with integrated race.
  • Tapered and butted legs provide tons of strength, crown weld surface, and peg clearance.
  • Post weld 4Q Baked heat-treatment

Fork Geometry

A: Steerer Length: 166mm

This steerer length is average sized. Longer steer tubes require more headset spacers or a frame with a longer head tube. They will also make the bars higher up naturally.

B: Offset: 33mm

This is a longer offset. A long offset will give you more stability and control. But less responsivness. So turns will feel slower and controlled.

C: Dropout Size: 10mm

Designed for front wheels with a 10mm front axle. If your front axle is smaller than your rear, its 10mm.

Conclusion

These are really light and affordable forks. The offset is designed for more controlled riding. Nose manuals will be harder with these forks.

Writing this book was a huge goal for me. I spent a lot of time creating these 60 pages of goodness. In this book, I talk about how specs can influence your riding. For example…

Did you know how a short chain stay can make spins easier? Or how the reach of a stem can make bars or whips harder?. Check out the book to brush up on your bmx knowledge.

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
