Top 3 Bikes from Kinks 2021 Line

There are 10 20″ complete bikes in Kinks 2020 Line. These range in price quality and weight. Since Kink let me look through their 2021 early, I was able to get the reviews out fast. I was blown away with the quality of these bikes. They even stepped it up this year by introducing the Kink Switch. See the whole line up hereOpens in a new tab.

3. 2021 Kink Gap

2021 Kink Gap Highlights

✅ – Affordable Price
✅ – Some Chromoly
✅ – 3 pc. Cranks

2021 Kink Gap Overview

The Gap is a versatile machine ready to handle anything you throw at it. Featuring modern geometry, the frame, fork, and bars add 4130 chromoly into the mix and is available in both Matte Bone White and Gloss Black Chrome colorways. Components found on the Gap take things up a notch and are not to be missed.

Not only will it look the part, but the 9” Kink T900 bars, Kink Stryker forks, Kink Bold HRD stem, sealed Mission Engage cassette hub, and Kink Ridge 3-piece tubular chromoly cranks help it to feel and perform the part. The addition of a Stealth seat and seat post are not to be overlooked either and add both adjustability and modern compatibility. Modern frame geometry brings a lower bottom bracket and raised standover height to the Gap, for a stable ride.

Why I Like it

The really cool thing about the 2021 Kink Gap is that it comes in 3 options. The regular GapOpens in a new tab., the XL versionOpens in a new tab., and the Freecoaster version. With these options, you can essentially get a bike that suits whatever style you need. Especially for the low $399 price, you can’t beat it.

2. 2021 Kink Cloud

✅ – Pegs
✅ – Double Wall Rims
✅ – Pro-level quality

2021 Kink Cloud Overview

The Kink Cloud is Kink Pro team rider Travis Hughes’ new signature bike. If you’ve seen Travis ride, you know there is just about nothing he can’t do on a bike, and the Cloud is based on his personal geometry preferences. Component wise, the Kink Cloud has got you covered with the included four plastic pegs and rear freecoaster wheel. The wild Gloss Translucent Teal fade colorway really sets this bike apart without being too flashy, and graphics inspired by Travis’s design ideas really finish off the look of this bike.

In addition to the full 100% 4130 chromoly frame and fork, the Cloud features an amazing list of components. This model comes with aftermarket Kink Rex 9.5” 13-butted 100% 4130 chromoly bars, Kink Pinnacle Stealth seat, and Kink 2.4” Sever tires front and rear. The integrated seat clamp, removable brake design, and Mission Dispatch freecoaster rear wheel solidify the aftermarket look and feel to this bike. To top it all off the Cloud, of course, comes standard with four Mission Targa plastic pegs.

Why I Like it

The Cloud was one of my favorites in 2020, it still is in 2021. The quality to price ratio is actually amazing to me. For $599 you can get a bike with full chromoly, double wall rims, pegs, and a freecoaster. That’s not all. A good handful of these parts are ‘aftermarket’ which means they are a little extra quality over standard complete parts.

I get that $599 is a lot, and you should only get this bike if you are serious about BMX. This is for taller high-level riders.

1. 2021 Kink Switch

✅ – Full Chromoly
✅ – Pegs
✅ – Double Wall Rims
✅ – Perfect Price

2021 Kink Switch Overview

An all-new model for 2021, the Kink Switch is truly a standout bike in our lineup. Designed as a brakeless bike, the Switch also includes removable brake mounts and a full brake set for those wanting to ride with brakes. The 2021 Switch doesn’t disappoint in its design or components either, and features 100% 4130 chromoly construction, and sealed bearings throughout the bike. The addition of two included plastic pegs means this bike is grind ready out of the box. The unique Matte Gravity Purple colorway is paired with all black parts, a raw stem, and Kink Chinaski aftermarket seat.

Complementing the Switch model are a ton of great components like the Kink Trident forks featuring a one-piece steerer tube, 9” Kink F900 4-piece bars, Kink Bold HRD stem and Kink Ridge 3-piece tubular chromoly cranks. Combining the removable brake design, two included plastic pegs and the street style Kink Sever 2.4” tires, really solidifies this bike as a true street machine.

Why I Like it

To me, $500 is like a magic price point. When a company is able to get a bike with outstanding quality in the price range, they have a best seller. Last year was the Cult Devotion. This year I think it will be the Switch. With everything that a mid-level rider needs to get to the next level, the Switch has pegs, full chromoly, a freecoaster, and more. It is 20.75″ so it will feel good for a medium sized rider. Size guide hereOpens in a new tab.
