Overview
The ENVY is a chance for us to showcase how far BMX design has come, and a glimpse into the direction it’s heading into… The launch of this particular model always sparks debate and attention unlike any other bike in our line up, and for good reason. The ENVY is a chance for us to hand-select only the crème de la crème from our product lines and carefully assemble them into one masterpiece of a bike.
The 2021 ENVY proves that strength does not have to come with a weight disadvantage. Built-up using our super light ENVY XLT frame along with the ECLAT Storm XLT fork, E440 rims and ground-breaking Seismic hubs, the ENVY is the highest spec’d BMX bike of all time. Despite the low weight, the ENVY was designed for even the most brutal street and park riders and handle the raw brutality of BMX riding, and features a full LIFETIME GUARANTEE on the frame and fork as always.

Frame Geometry
A: Top Tube Length: 20.5″ or 21″ – Learn what size is right for you here.
Check the size guide to see if its right for you..
Getting a top tube that is taller than suggested will make the bike feel more controlled and less responsive
Getting a top tube size that is smaller than normal will make the bike feel a lot more snappy and responsive.
B: Chain Stay Length: 13.1″ – Learn About Chain Stays Here
This is a medium chainstay.
A short chain stay makes the bike feel twitchy. Spins will be easy, but airing and jumping might feel hard to control.
A long chain stay will make the bike feel really controlled. Spins will feel sluggish, but manuals and air tricks will feel nice because it will be more stable.
C: Head Tube Angle: 75.25° – Learn About Head Tube Angles Here
Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.
A less steep head tube gives you more control.
D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°
E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.5″
F: Stand over height: 8.75″
This is a medium standover.
A tall standover makes your seat higher up and will allow you to pinch it easier when learning barspins.
Bar Geometry – Learn more here
G: Rise: 9.4″
Riding a tall rise, will give you more leverage on the bike. Making it easier to pull back and lift the front wheel up.
H: Width: 29.8″
This is a wide width.
Narrow bars make barspins easier.
Wide bars give you more control and stability when steering.
I: Backsweep: 10.5º
What does backsweep do?
As far as I know, there is a sweet spot for backsweep. Too much will make the bike feel weird, and too little will make the bike unstable. It seems like the sweet spot is around 11º to 12º. If you need something a little more aggressive and straight feeling, go for 10º, but only do this if 11º is uncomfortable.
J: Upsweep: 2.5º
This is a normal upsweep!
What does upsweep do?
There is a lot of discussion about 1º upsweep vs. 4º upsweep. Some people are running experiments and testing if the greater upsweep will make drops feel better. It seems like a lot of street riders run 4º to 5º upsweep. This helps for wrist pain and lessens the impact of big drops.
Price
The 2021 Wethepeople Envy is the most expensive bike out this year. They justify the extremely high price tag by including an aftermarket frame, forks, and bars. Along with a full parts package of high-quality aftermarket parts. Everything About this bike screams quality since it is built to last. This is a good price when you consider everything that is included. If you bought all the aftermarket parts separately it would add up to well over $1159.
Quality
So normally when a bike company puts full chromoly parts on a bike it is a pretty good quality bike. However, when reading the list of parts on the Wethepeople Envy, I saw next-level quality. This included heat-treated sanko 4130 chromoly which is the best you can use when making bike parts. Here’s a couple of my favorite things about this bike that makes it extremely high quality.
- Frame: WETHEPEOPLE “ENVY XLT”, 4130 full crmo, hydroformed gussets, lasercut 6.0mm dropouts, 120mm head tube
- Fork: ÉCLAT “STORM XLT” fork, post liquid heat-treated & butted sanko tubing, 24mm offset
- Cranks: ÉCLAT “TIBIA” 22mm tubular 2.5pc crank crmo, 170mm, 48 spline
- Rim: ÉCLAT “E440” double wall rim, 36h, flash welded
Buy if you are learning:
- 360
- bar spins
- Grinding handrails
- high-level street
- high airs
- 540
- grind combos
- tail whips
Don’t buy if you are learning:
- Good for any trick
Conclusion
This is an amazing bike. The 2021 Wethepeople Envy comes in a 20.5″ option or a 21″ option, so that you can get a great bike no matter what size you are. The envy is the same quality you would find if you built a fully custom bike. While I do generally recommend to just go ahead and build a custom bike if that’s what you’re looking at. Going with the Envy gives you the same amount of quality and can save you a little bit of money. If you’re a mid to high-level rider and you need a bike that won’t break on you, this is the best choice.
