Overview

One of the most progressive BMX frames ever made, Dan Kruk’s signature network frame has been tested in the lab and in the streets for a solid year and we are now beyond hyped to finally bring it to you.

Dan wanted a shorter 12.5” chainstay and updated geo from the battleship frame, making the network one of the most responsive and agile bmx frames to date. Utilizing our new invest cast yoke for improved stiffness and tire/sprocket clearance, the network frame really is a frame from the future.

Dan Kruk Signature

When it came to doing my very own frame design, the first thing I wanted was a shorter 12.5” chainstay. Thanks to the special invest cast yoke the guys in cologne designed, we were able to make the backend shorter without any issues with tire clearance.

I wanted to take the proven hydroformed tubing from the battleship frame since it always made by previous frames indestructible. I did however want to switch things up from the battleship frame and update the geometry slightly so I went with a steeper 75.75 headtube angle and a taller 9.15” standover height.

The network frame features beefed-up tubing and extra material in all the right places to make this thing sturdy as an ox.

I couldn’t be more stoked with how this thing turned out!

A: Top Tube Length: 20.5″, 20.8″ 21.1″ – Learn what size is right for you hereOpens in a new tab.

Check the size guide to see if its right for you..

Getting a top tube that is taller than suggested will make the bike feel more controlled and less responsive

Getting a top tube size that is smaller than normal will make the bike feel a lot more snappy and responsive.

B: Chain Stay Length: 12.5″ – Learn About Chain Stays HereOpens in a new tab.

This is a Very SHORT chainstay.

A short chain stay makes the bike feel twitchy. Spins will be easy, but airing and jumping might feel hard to control.

A long chain stay will make the bike feel really controlled. Spins will feel sluggish, but manuals and air tricks will feel nice because it will be more stable.

C: Head Tube Angle: 75.75° – Learn About Head Tube Angles HereOpens in a new tab.

This is a steep headtube angle.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.

A less steep head tube gives you more control.

D: Seat Tube Angle: 71°

E: Bottom Bracket Height: 11.85″

F: Stand over height: 9.15″

This is a Tall standover.

A tall standover makes your seat higher up and will allow you to pinch it easier when learning barspins.

While a Small Standover will make it harder to bar but easier to whip

What is the Price?

The Wethepeople Network frame costs $349.99. And overall this is a really good price for everything that you get. It doesn’t have the American made quality that Fit and S&m do, which explains why it is around $50 cheaper. This is a good price for a frame like this.

Why does it cost as much a complete bike?

It’s kind of crazy to think that you can get a complete bike for less than this frame. However, this frame is for high-level riding and will outlast a complete bike by YEARS. Here are a few things that make it more expensive than a complete bike.

These are a few reasons that this frame cost’s so much:

  • Lifetime Guarantee: WTP is confident in the frame’s ability to hold up. So they have a lifetime guarantee.
  • Sanko Chromoly: The Elite frame material.
  • Hydroformed Toptube & Downtube: The downtube looks kind of funny because it is hydroformed. This way adds the same strength as gussets without the extra weight.

What is the Weight?

The Wethepeople Network Frame weighs 5.6lbs on average. The 21.1″ toptube will weigh a little more and the 20.5″ toptube will weigh a little less due to more and less material used to compensate for the extra weight.

This is pretty heavy for a frame if we are being honest. This is most likely due to the Invest Cast Wishbone. This means the wishbone is cast instead of tubing, making it stronger and more customizable, but it is a lot heavier.

Conclusion

I do like the Network frame. But if you need a stable and controlled bike, this is not it. The price is good, the quality is good and it will hold up to extreme riding.

Now the specs are designed for technical street riding. The steep head tube will make the bike snappy and responsive with easy nose manuals. The short chainstay will make spins easy, and the bike might tend to loop out on grinds and manuals. Keep your own style in mind when shopping for a frame!

This frame will be able to replace any frame on any bike that I review on this website.
