The 2022 Kink Switch utilizes a dialed-in geometry designed for those that want a bike for technical riding. To help this style of riding, the components chosen have characteristics to help such as geometry and material used to make them. The Kink Trident fork has a 26mm offset, 1-piece steerer tube, and is constructed from 100% chromoly. The Mission Deploy freecoaster helps chain tricks together whether you are rolling forward or fakie, meaning fakie manuals just got a whole lot easier. Kink even took grinding into consideration and included 2 Mission nylon pegs. The Kink Switch slays manuals and 180’s bringing more lines together in the streets and in the park.

Getting a top tube size that is smaller than normal will make the bike feel a lot more snappy and responsive.

A short chain stay makes the bike feel twitchy. Spins will be easy, but airing and jumping might feel hard to control.

The 2022 Kink Switch scored a 4..9/10. This is a pretty good Dougsterbob Score. The biggest thing here is the price to quality ratio, and with the Switch, you are getting a lot of bike for the low $599.99 price point.
A lot of riders choose the Switch over the Kink Whip because the switch comes more “street-specific”.
Is the Kink Switch a good bike?
The Switch is a really good bike that comes with strong chromoly on the frame forks and bars. Along with that, you are getting the street-specific parts needed to take your bike out and cruise the streets. This includes pegs, freecoaster, and 4pc bars.

The Kink Switch scored a 6/10 in the street section. It is a pretty good bike for street riders since it comes with street-specific parts.
The parts on the Kink Switch can hold up to big drops and big gaps which is required for mid-level street riding.

Yes, the Kink Switch is built for street-specific riding. It comes with a freecoaster, high-quality parts, 4 pc bars, and even pegs. These will make street riding more fun and more effective.
Park Score
Park Score: 4
The Switch is not necessarily for park riding. However, it scored a pretty good (4) in the park section. So I recommend this for someone who primarily rides street but dabbles in park every once in a while.
You would be able to upgrade a gyro and park-specific tires to get that score up a little bit. But right out of the box it scores pretty high. The reason for this is the responsive geometry. The Switch has a short and responsive 12.75″ chain stay. This will make technical park riding easier.
Is the 2022 Kink Switch good for riding skateparks?
The Kink Switch is for the occasional skatepark goer even though it’s not super-specific. You can ride park on the Switch but this is not what it is best used for.
Dirt Score
Dirt Score: 1.33
The Switch scored a 1.33 in Dirt. Even though the Switch is a great bike, it is not great for riding dirt. Let me explain why.
Freecoasters suck on dirt. The slack on a coaster makes it really hard to make up your speed and get to the next jump if you land low or case the previous jump.
This bike is also pretty responsive, which can be a downfall for dirt riding. We want long and stable geometry on dirt-specific bikes.

Is the Kink Switch good for riding dirt?
The Kink Switch will perform well on a pump track but it is not dirt-specific. The responsive geometry seen on the switch will make it hard to control at high speed.

Quality Score: 6.25
The Switch scored really well in the quality section. It has strong parts that can last as you progress and take some slams. You need a bike like this if you’re riding at a mid-level or higher.
A 6.25 quality may not seem like much, but if you look something like the Sunday Forecaster which is $550 and a (3.5) quality score… The Switch seems like a really good deal. And it is. Not many bikes in this price range score so high in quality.
Riding a high-quality bike is important to have fun and progress safely.

Style
The Switch’s color looks interesting. I like the idea but you’ll have to take a look and tell me what you think. Basically, one side of the frame is one color, and the other side is a different color. Aside from that, i love the way it looks with the pegs, 4pc bars, and the top load stem.
Value
For $600 you get a lot of bike. Compared to other bikes at this price, the Switch wins on value every time. You are getting full chromoly components and street upgrades. At the $600 price point, the Kink Switch is the best valued BMX Bike in 2022.
If you are considering this bike and have the money…go for it. The quality will last as you progress. Plus this is definitely the best bike for the price.
Should you get it?
If you are a mid-level rider, who loves riding street more than anything else, this is a good choice for you. Especially because you know that when you spend your $600… you are getting a lot of bike.
