SUBROSA SALVADOR FC VS. WETHEPEOPLE CRS (BMX Bike Comparison)

You might be buying a new BMX bike, wondering “is the Wethepeople CRS better than the Subrosa Salvador FC?” The short answer is Yes. The Subrosa Salvador FC is a much better bike when it comes to value. I’ll outline the differences in this post and help you figure out the better bike.

About Each Bike

First, let’s take a look at what the manufacturer has to say about each bike. Each brand has a unique way to talk about their bike and I always have fun reading them and calling them out on their BS when need be.

About the Wethepeople CRS FC bmx bike

The 2023 We The People CRS FC BMX Bike was designed to give riders the most bang for their buck, while also making progression easier utilizing the bike’s geometry. Short 12.75″ chainstays and a fork with a 26mm offset create a snappy and quick feeling ride that is easy to pull the front wheel up. This means things such as bunny hopping, manuals, and 180’s are all easier to learn and perfect. The Salt Pro Freecoaster will help you pull some super long fakies out of those 180’s with total ease helping to set up for the next trick in the line. Fully sealed hubs and bearings, a 4130 chromoly downtube, and an extensive list of Salt and Eclat components tie this build together with the dependability of a mid-range priced bike, but without doing the same amount of damage to the wallet. The 2023 We The People CRS will take you to further heights in the world of freestyle BMX.

About the Subrosa Salvador FC BMX Bike

The 2022 Subrosa Salvador FC BMX Bike wrecks the streets. The Rant Moonwalker II freecoaster gives a rider all the creative ability they could ask for by being able to fakie without back-pedaling while the fully sealed bearings make sure that you can concentrate on what matters in the moment. A 21″ toptube and the Rant Trill Top Load Stem paired with the 9″ rise 4-piece bars create a fit that is perfect for riders on the taller side. A gorgeous colorway featuring a matte trans blue frame matched with Sawtooth tires and aftermarket parts from Rant, Shadow, and Subrosa bring the bike together both aesthetically and functionally. If you love finding new lines in the streets, the Subrosa Salvador FC BMX Bike was designed for you.

Price

The bikes are very close together in price. I think $500 is a good price that most people plan to spend on a BMX bike. After shipping, and tax these bikes will cost a little more. With all things considered I think both bikes are a little overpriced for the quality they offer.

However, the Salvador is 21″ and you can find much better priced 21″ bikes, but the CRS is 20.25″ and you will not find a better quality bike in that size.

Weight

Riding a lighter bike will give you the ability to maneuver the bike. A light bike should be the goal of every BMX rider as long as it does not sacrifice quality.

The Subrosa Salvador FC is lighter than the WTP CRS FC, and this is without sacrificing quality. The Salvador FC is lighter and stronger so it will earn a point here.

Size Options

Having options is important so that riders can ensure the bike they get will help them progress. Both bikes only have one size option so the target rider for each bike is narrowed down.

Color Options

The Wethepeople CRS FC has two different color options. The Subrosa Salvador FC only has one color option. Riders will not have alternative options if they do not like the color option of the Salvador.

Since the CRS has more options, it will win a point here.

Core BMX Brands

I like to support bike companies that give back to the economy. Both Wethepeople and Subrosa do so by sponsoring riders and hosting events.

Utility of the bikes

Both bikes have a freecoaster which gives them a specific utility. These two bikes are set aside from 90% of complete bikes because they do not need to be pedaled backward while doing a fakie.

Frame Quality

Both of these bikes have some chromoly in the frame, but neither are full chromoly. The Subrosa Salvador FC takes the win here since it has a chromoly toptube, downtube and headtube. The CRS FC only has a chromoly downtube

The Subrosa Salvador frame will last longer and withstand better to aggressive riding so it will get a point here.

Fork Quality

Both the Wethepeople CRS FC and Subrosa Salvador FC have a set of forks with a chromoly steer tube and hi-tensile steel legs. These forks are better than full chromoly but overall not very practical since the legs will bend.

Bar Quality

The Subrosa Salvador FC has stronger bars that are full chromoly. These bars are much stronger than the bars on the Wethepeople CRS since it only has hi-tensile steel bars. Hi-tensile steel bars bend easily.

The Salvador FC will earn a point here for having better bars.

Rim Quality

Sadly, both bikes have low-quality single-wall rims. No one will earn a point here but I want to point out something. The Salvador is a 21″ bike so taller riders will be the ones on it. Taller riders tend to weigh more and therefore will do more damage to the single wall rims. Smaller riders on the CRS will not have many issues with the single-wall rims if they weigh under 130 lbs.

Aftermarket Parts

Honestly, I was impressed with the number of aftermarket parts on both of these bikes. Having aftermarket parts will increase the longevity of certain parts. This is important if you want your bike to last a while (who doesn’t?)

Subrosa Salvador FC: 5 aftermarket parts

Wethepeople CRS FC: 4 aftermarket parts

The Salvador will win a point here since it has more aftermarket parts.

Quality Score

The Subrosa Salvador is a better quality bike because it scores a 3.75 in the quality section of the Dougsterbob App. The CRS only scores a 2.75. To be honest, I expected the difference to be much higher. The Salvador FC will score a point here.

Value Score

The Subrosa Salvador FC scores a 7.37 in value. This is a good value score and it is much better than the CRS’s 5.4 score. The Subrosa Salvador FC is clearly the better value here since it is a better quality bike for the same price as the Wethepeeople CRS.

Winner

The Subrosa Salvador FC is the clear winner here. It beat the CRS FC 6-1.

The Subrosa Salvador FC is better than the Wethepeople CRS because:
