The Fit Mixtape frame is pretty unique. The chainstay is short and responsive just like a tech park frame. The graphics on the signature colorway are hand-signed by the rider which is pretty cool. Overall it works as a good frame upgrade and can hold up to some hefty riding.
Note: This is for the Mixtape SM version with the short 12.65 Chain stay. Learn more about the Mixtape XL Here.

Micro Dropouts – Shorter dropouts that keep the back wheel closer to slammed. Normally there is a lot of variation between slammed and not slammed. But with the micro dropout, there is not much room to move. |
Stiffer Downtube – Made from a little different material that will give the bike an overall stiffer feel. |
Cleaned Up Headtube – The way the headtube is, is a little different than normal. It is shaved down a little to give it a cleaner fit and a better bearing fit. |

Getting a top tube that is taller than suggested will make the bike feel more controlled and less responsive
Getting a top tube size that is smaller than normal will make the bike feel a lot more snappy and responsive.

This is a short chainstay.
A short chain stay makes the bike feel twitchy. Spins will be easy, but airing and jumping might feel hard to control.
A long chain stay will make the bike feel really controlled. Spins will feel sluggish, but manuals and air tricks will feel nice because it will be more stable.
C: Head Tube Angle: 75.5° – Learn About Head Tube Angles Here
Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.
A less steep head tube gives you more control.

F: Stand over height: 9″
This is a tall standover.

Price
The thing that makes FIT frames more expensive than most, is that they are made here in the USA. The idea behind this is that they are higher quality, but the materials and the labor usually cost more.
This Mixtape Frame costs $389 with the Purple Reign color-way costing $409. This is a fair price, especially because of the made in the USA thing that I mentioned before.
Why does it cost as much a complete bike?
It’s kind of crazy to think that you can get a complete bike for less than this frame. However, this frame is for high-level riding and will outlast a complete bike by YEARS. Here are a few things that make it more expensive than a complete bike.
- 4Q Baked Chromoly
- Gussets
- Dent Resistant Downtube
Conclusion
I think that the Fit Mixtape is a good choice for riders who need a frame upgrade that is super strong. The responsive nature of the frame makes it perfect for technical street riding or park riding.
This frame will feel responsive and snappy, but not very comfortable to go high and fast. It is really good for spins and grinds.
This frame will be able to replace any frame on any bike that I review on this website.
