Eastern’s 2019 Lowdown bike is a top seller. It is a lower quality bike designed for beginner bmx riders. The Lowdown has small geometry designed for smaller riders. Eastern used to have a good name for entry level bikes. They disappeared for a while, and are now coming back with the goal of making good bikes for a good price.

This is a very small toptube. Not many frames have a toptube this short.

This is a long chain stay. Longer Chain-stays give you more control when doing manuals and bunny hops.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.
A less steep head tube gives you more control.

This is a small standover. Even though I do not know the size, I can tell from the pictures that it is really small.
A small standover makes tailwhip really easy.
2019 Eastern Lowdown Price
Eastern’s Lowdown is very cheap. For $289 you can get a very low quality entry level bike. I would not recommend this bike even though it is so cheap. The parts will not last anyone who plans to ride more than a year.
2019 Eastern Lowdown Quality
This bike has low quality parts. You do have the option of buying upgrades for this bike. Usually this isn’t the best approach because the core parts are weak. Here are some weak parts.
Pressed Bearings. The headset bearings are not integrated. This is just a sign of low quality.
Hi-Tensile Parts. Landing hard on hi-tensile bars will bend them down. Casing a jump on a hi-tensile steel frame will bend the frame.

The parts for the most part are all low quality. The only good thing that I saw was 3 piece cranks. These 3 piece cranks are not even good cranks they are just a cheap version.

2019 Eastern Lowdown Conclusion 🤩
Of all the Eastern bikes on the market, this is one that I do not recommend. While the price is right, the parts are not. When you start to progress with bmx and you want to learn bigger tricks you will need parts that last with you. These parts just wont last you much longer than a year.
