Getting a top tube that is taller than suggested will make the bike feel more controlled and less responsive
Getting a top tube size that is smaller than normal will make the bike feel a lot more snappy and responsive.

This is a long chainstay.
A short chain stay makes the bike feel twitchy. Spins will be easy, but airing and jumping might feel hard to control.
A long chain stay will make the bike feel really controlled. Spins will feel sluggish, but manuals and air tricks will feel nice because it will be more stable.

Steep head tube angles make the bike “snappy” meaning more responsive to fast turns.
A less steep head tube gives you more control.

What does backsweep do?
As far as I know, there is a sweet spot for backsweep. Too much will make the bike feel weird, and too little will make the bike unstable. It seems like the sweet spot is around 11º to 12º. If you need something a little more aggressive and straight feeling, go for 10º, but only do this if 11º is uncomfortable.
J: Upsweep: N/A
What does upsweep do?
There is a lot of discussion about 1º upsweep vs. 4º upsweep. Some people are running experiments and testing if the greater upsweep will make drops feel better. It seems like a lot of street riders run 4º to 5º upsweep. This helps for wrist pain and lessens the impact of big drops.
Dougsterbob Score
Now everything above the line is pretty basic info. I break down the specs, geometry and some highlights. But that doesn’t really help you find the right bike. So I created the Dougsterbob Score.
What is it?
The Dougsterbob Score is taken from Doug Demaro’s “Doug Score” (He already had the name so I had to get creative with mine haha) Anyway, this assigns a score to the bike based on 20 different aspects. This way you will know exactly what this bike is good for and how it holds up.

Dougsterbob Score
Dougsterbob Score: 66/200
66/200 isn’t terrible, although it does put it down at the bottom of the list from bikes I have reviewed so far. The best part of the bike is the style hands down. You can choose between two really attractive colorways. Keep in mind that the red is a 21″ TT and the Black is a 20.5″ toptube. Other than that, this beginner bike doesn’t have much going for it.
Street Score
Street Score: 9/40
This bike received a solid 9/40 for the street section. One of the biggest factors is if the bike will hold up to bigger gaps and drops. The short answer is no. The Eon is all hi-tensile steel with a chromoly steer tube on the forks. Which really doesn’t matter.
Another big factor is the pegs. The Eon does not come with pegs or hub guards. Now it is always possible to buy some and throw them on, but that’s a hassle no street rider wants to deal with.
The Eon will be ok for street riding. I do recommend dropping some money on some pegs and hub guards though. Since grinding is a huge part of street riding. Just remember that after too much abuse the bike will start to bend.
Park Score
Park Score: 3/30
This is a very low park score. The Eon scored low for a number of reasons. One reason was that you can not put gyro brakes on the Verde Eon. I know gyros are a big deal for a lot of new street riders and sadly, this bike doesn’t even have holes for gyro tabs.
I also took a look and was disappointed by the Eon’s tires. These things will not grip the skatepark at all! Look how smooth they are. While they are great for street because of the low rolling resistance, they are not good for park.

Dirt Score
Dirt Score: 11/30
To be fair, most bikes score ok on the dirt section, and that is because they have almost perfect gearing for dirt. 25/9 is good fo2r dirt riding because it balances acceleration with top speed. But a lot of dirt riders like 30/10 or 28/9 gearing which can be found on the Fit TRL bikes.
The eon has a fairly mellow geometry to it. Things like the long 13.5″ chain stay and mellow 74.5º headtube angle will make it very controlled when riding dirt. Verde’s Eon also only weighs 25.3lbs. Smaller riders will have an easier time controlling it on dirt.
I would recommend the Eon for beginner dirt riders. Just remember that it is a weaker material and might break with a few big crashes.
Style Score
Style Score: 22/30
The Eon’s strength is the elegant style. It is a beautiful bike, the colors look good, match well, and the overall “look” of the geometry is visually pleasing. It is always good when you can choose between more than one color because the color of our bike is how we express ourselves.
This is a very nice looking bike and everything on the Eon is fully customizable.
Quality Score
Quality Score: 5/40
Well, this is a little disappointing. When judging quality, I look into how much chromoly is on the bike, how many of the rims are double-wall, and if it comes with a lifetime warranty on any parts. (Bikes like the Soundwave and Envy come with these)
The Eon had 0 good quality parts sadly. The only reason it has a 5 instead of a 4 is that it got an extra point for the chromoly steer tube on the forks. This doesn’t make a whole lot of difference since the legs will bend, but hey it’s some chromoly.
Because of the low quality score, the Eon is ONLY for beginners. And even then, I would say to be careful on it since you might progress too fast and totally destroy this bike.

Value: 5/10
Alright, so to wrap this up.. I gave the Verde Eon a 5/10 value. It cost’s $400 which is somewhat affordable, even though it has no chromoly. The Eon is not a total rip off, but it is not a killer deal.
Should you get it?
In my opinion, I would keep shopping. Don’t get this bike. While the bike is fair value, it just isn’t the best bike for $400. You can find better out there. Especially since some bikes at this price include a chromoly front triangle.

What is the Price?
The 2021 Verde Eon costs Right at $400. And $400 is an OK price for this bike. Their description really hypes it up a lot more than it should.
It’s a high tensile steel frame Forks and bars with single-wall rims. This means that the bike will not hold up to mid-level tricks like big 360s tailwhips or even barspins. While it is worth $400 you can find some better options that are the same amount of quality just a little bit cheaper.

The 2021 Verde Eon weighs 25.3lbs. This is a really light bike, to be honest. A lot of this weight comes from the lower quality hi-tensile steel parts.

Conclusion
The 2021 Verde Eon is designed for brand new riders. If you have been riding for a while and have a small bag of tricks, this is not the bike for you. The low-quality parts will break and you will be sad. Like I mentioned above, I wouldn’t actually recommend this bike. Keep shopping and get something with better value.
