2019 Fiend Embryo Type O Summary

Don’t Buy If…

  • You do a lot of 360’s
  • You do or are learning 540’s
  • You like to drop big stair sets, or gaps

Do Buy If…

  • You want to learn dropping in
  • You are just starting to ride
  • You want to learn basic grinds

The 2019 Fiend Embryo Type O bike has all the same great features as the Type O-, but with upgrades such as a chromoly toptube and downtube frame to increase strength and a fully sealed Mission 14mm cassette hub. The Embryo Type O is a great entry level complete that works well on the street, dirt and park without the high price tag.

2019 Fiend Embryo Type O is a mid priced mid end bike. I do believe that Fiend is similar to Apple in the sense that you pay for the name. For $429.95Opens in a new tab. you are getting a well balanced bike that can shred park, street and dirt.

Quality

Fiend bikes are built well. I think that the 2019 Fiend Embryo O is pretty good. I like that you can find a lower quality version (O-) and a higher quality version (O+) Garret is smart for doing this because often times, riders want a bike that is somewhere in the middle of their options.

Highlights

GOOD PARTS 😍

Quality beginner bike for a lowish price, with a chromoly front triangle.

Lowlights

Parts are built for low tricks 🤬

The 2019 Fiend Embryo has parts like

  • Single Wall Rims
  • Hi-tensile Bars
  • Hi-Tensle back triangle

Park

Riding park on the Fiend Embryo type O is perfect if you are at the stage where you work on: Airs, Drop ins, T-Bogs and similar tricks.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU PLAN TO DO BIG 360’S, FLAIRS, FLIPS AND 540’S. The single wall rims and hi-tensile parts will not withstand it.

Street

If you decide to ride street on this bike the same things apply’s. Great for small stuff. Just don’t send anything down huge gaps or huge stair sets. You will need to buy some pegs, just make sure you do not bend your axles.

Dirt

The size and geometry is set up well to ride dirt. If a tall person was to try and ride dirt on this bike it will feel really fast and uncontrolled because of the small specs. For a small person, this will be a good bike to ride dirt.

Conclusion 🤩

If you are looking to get into bmx and be able to ride street, park and dirt, you will love this bike. It’s not super expensive and the bike will last pretty well for a beginner.

My parents bought me my first BMX bike in 2011 and it changed my life. This bike has taken me all over the world and introduced me to cool places and cooler people. My goal is to help get 1,000,000 people into BMX so they can experience the joy and freedom that comes from a progression based sport.
